I’m selling this amp, made in December 1967. Originally, it was a Drip Edge model, but over time, it lost its aluminum frame. Inside, it still has the blackface circuit, including the blue molded Ajax capacitors.
When I bought it, the cabinet was in really bad shape, so I took it to Vivian Instruments for a complete retolex and cabinet repair (see the before-and-after photos).
After that, the combo went in for a full service at St. Johnny Amplification in Pilsen. The poor-quality IC electrolytic capacitors were replaced with TAD electrolytics. A few faulty tubes and some out-of-spec resistors were replaced, and the tremolo was modified to allow for a much slower speed setting. I can provide the service report in a PDF file.
The speakers are later, highly regarded “blue label” CTS Alnicos from 1974 with original cones in great shape. All the transformers are original. The combo runs on 110V, and a step-down transformer is included in the sale. The reverb tank is a non-original Accutronics, and the reverb tank cover has also been replaced.
The amp is sold without a footswitch.
The amp as available for pickup near Prague, Czechia. Please message me for shipping details.
The video was shot with a different speaker baffle, but the amp is sold with the original speaker baffle. https://youtu.be/VKYqRy4KR9o
