A 'Plug & Play' Vintage style van, our 1969 Citroen HY with original features is a fantastic business food truck - Ready to go to work!
Stand out from the crowd whether you intend to sell food, coffee, alcohol, flowers, anything you like!
Fully rust proofed, waterproofed, immaculate condition, our restored vans undergo a full mechanical overhaul before being stripped to remove all traces of corrosion and any panel work is reworked or replaced to deliver an as new van. Once the shell is prepared we then carry out a full respray inside and out in the choosen colours. The van is then rebuilt using new parts where required or restored original parts where possible to deliver an original HY van in A1 condition.
The vehicle has also had work done for the brake lines, suspensions, electric pack, new rubbers and leather seats. It has roof, walls and floor insulation. The furniture is from special lightweight materials, aluminium frame, wood and Alucobond ceiling.
It’s provided with sink and evacuation, it has HOT and cold running water, LED lights, exterior plug and multiple double sockets around the van.
The counter tops and interior are contributing to it’s vintage look - It is very stylish and welcoming when a customer looks through the serving hatch!
Renovation project completed in 2019. Restored from scratch over in one year.
Vans restored with this level of care for the price offered are very rare.
The vehicule is curently located in Bucharest, Romania where it can be seen and tested. It has all the original documents and I have also more photos and videos.
History of the Citroën HY:
The Citroën H Van, Type H, H-Type or HY is a panel van (light truck) produced by the French car maker Citroën between 1947 and 1981. It was developed as a simple front wheel driven van after World War II. Like the 1934 Citroën Traction Avant, the H had a unitary body with no separate frame, four-wheel independent suspension, and front-wheel drive. For a commercial van, this combination provided unique benefits - a flat floor very close to the ground, and 6 ft (180 cm) standing height, with a side loading door. The welded floor was strong enough to support a horse.
The engine, gearbox and many smaller parts are shared with other Citroën models. The engine and gearbox are nearly identical to those in the Traction Avant and later the DS, only mounted with the engine in front of the gearbox. The headlights were identical to those of the 2CV, while speedometers were successively borrowed from the Traction Avant and the Ami 6.
The 1.9 liter motor offered more usable power than the smaller motor of its competitor, the Volkswagen Type 2.
