Ovation "Breadwinner" was the first mass-produced, solid-body guitar with an active FET preamp on board. The active electronics allowed guitarists to get a very wide range of sounds out of the guitar.
This one is with Ovations own mini-humbuckers and an ebony fingerboard. All original with no modifications.
Used by Peter Tosh of The Wailers, Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, Colin Newman of the band Wire, Marc Bolan, The Cars, Robert Smith of The Cure whilst filling in as guitarist for Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Dave Gregory of XTC Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley KISS and Steve Marriot Faces/The Small Faces.
