The World was a famous nightclub in New York City, which operated in the eighties at 254 East 2nd Street, in Manhattan`s East Village neighborhood. The Club brought together like no other place people of different ethnicities and economic backgrounds. The clientele included artists, celebrities, and fashion designers, such as Keith Haring, Madonna, Prince and Carolina Herrera, as well as avant-garde club kids, drag queens, and black and Puerto Rican locals.
